How Medium Made Me A Better Writer
I noticed the difference with my first story I posted.

I started writing blogs on Medium by re-purposing information I had written for my forthcoming book on health and fitness. The information I pulled is contained within my chapters. Chapters that when grouped together will form a complete (hopefully) coherent book. Being a chapter it didn’t need to stand independently. The writing was leaning on the chapter information preceding it and supported chapters coming after. It was one spoke in the wheel so to speak.
Now I was taking that chapter information and reworking it into a post. It worked, but the results were weak. It was still a spoke, but it was missing the axle and rim. The information felt adrift.
Hmm, so I needed to rewrite the material. First giving it a “Why you should give a shit and read this.” anchor, then structure the material into a beginning, middle and “action step” end, so when a reader read the article, the material felt complete and coherent.
After rewriting the material and pressing publish button on Medium, I realized the material had evolved into a better chapter as well. Wow! Nice.
