PSI Science Lamp

The PSI Science Lamp represents an intersection of modern technology and parapsychological exploration. Utilizing a true Random Number Generator (RNG), the PSI Science Lamp offers researchers, hobbyists, and enthusiasts an engaging way to test psychokinesis (PK), precognition, and telepathy. A number of free programs allow users to gamify PSI testing.

How the PSI Science Lamp Works

At the heart of the PSI Science Lamp is a Geiger counter, a device that detects background radiation from cosmic or terrestrial sources. The unpredictability of radioactive decay provides an ideal trigger to randomness, as these events occur without any determinable pattern. When a radioactive particle is detected, the PSI Science Lamp uses this event to generate a random number. Each random number corresponds to one of four different colors the random. The PSI lamp can generate numbers in three ranges: 1–2, 1–4, and 1–128. As the random numbers are generated, the lamp changes colors unpredictably.

When in the range of 1–2, binary, the lamp will only cycle between two colors. In the range of 1–4, the lamp will cycle through the four colors depending on the number generated. In the range of 1–128, the numbers are evenly distributed between the four colors.
