Red Light Therapy Using Wearables

Soft Flexible Pads, Belts, and Wraps

The advantage of flexible RLT devices is their ability to provide light to specific areas. For instance, if you hurt your wrist, a flexible can be wrapped around your wrist, and treatment provided to that particular area.

The advantage is targeting photobiomodulation light to the injury. Typically when treating an injury, you would provide a greater joule /cm² than what is given for general health.

A second advantage is that since wearables are low-power devices, it allows for direct skin contact. Direct contact with the skin minimizes skin reflectance.

Direct Contact with Low Power Wearables

Since most wearables are low-power devices, the manufacturer usually recommends making physical skin contact with the device to absorb the highest amount of Red Light possible.
